I created these Valentine’s door hangers for my girls this year. Foam board, patterned paper, micro beads, stamping, tinsel pipe cleaners, beads, bling, lace trim, ephemera from K&Co. Fun project!
“Do what you love” – the end
So I had a conversation with my girls this evening about the “feeling” of working in my PJs and how it is to be “unwound” and no longer doing the “grind”, “working for the man”, “climbing the corporate ladder” and I must say, for me, it’s all about trusting in the Lord. He has a plan and I’m not quite sure what it is, I DO know I’ll give Him all the credit though. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more relaxed and focused all at the same time (and driven). Well… that’s not exactly true, January 1996 I felt very similar when my son was born – calm, relaxed but focused and driven — to be a mom, not sure what kind of mom, but a mom that: loved, provided and taught her child in the best way she knew how. He’s a great teen now and I couldn’t be more proud. OK, back to the topic at hand, I have been unemployed for about 4 months now and it was almost as if a light switch flipped on in me with the crafting game and I must say, I am absolutely loving it. The saying if you can do what you love and make a living at it, you’re doing it right”, ya, I’m hopeful this is how my story unfolds. I’ve climbed the corporate ladder since ’99 and fulfillment was scarce [if at all] in the work I did. However, crafting, creating, designing, collaborating, sharing and even teaching, well… that brings great joy to me. So I must Thank you Lord for your gifts, provision, and love for me and for always providing in spite of the harsh realities of life. I am following my passion to create!
Thank you dear girlfriends, I love you deeply. Mom, thank you for helping cultivate this new adventure and supporting the inner workings of what it takes, I love you all dearly. Your sooofullofcrafter here. LOL
