As a huge Will Ferrel fan… He is just sometimes too comedic-ally perfect.
This album was a special order for a girl who lost her sister. The brief story I was told was that during the girl’s funeral, butterflies were released and thus every time her sister sees one, it reminds her. I love special projects like these, full of heart.
I used K&Co. paper stack: Botanicals by Susan Wignet, many assorted K&Co. borders, acetate frames, Jolee’s, Martha & K&Co. & Recollections embellishments, Michael’s ribbon for trim, stamping on a variety of pages by Lost & Found, Unity Stamps, Pink Paislee, Inkadinkadoo. Tags in this album are in the shape of large butterflies, large enough to adhere photos onto and add journal spots. I traced the $1 bin chipboard albums from Michael’s to get the perfect butterfly shape on cardstock and patterned paper.
This Mermaid album is full of vintage buttons, distress techniques and styles, rich color schemes, pockets filled with tags and photo mats with enough room for pictures of beach fun! Tim Holtz distress ink, stickles and clip, Creative Imaginations Beach Cottage paper, a collection of different trims, twine and buttons, embellishments complete from K&Co., Jolee’s, Sticko, Recollections, Prima, Martha Stewart, TJ Maxx, Webster’s Pages, Glossy Accents were all used to create this album.
I made album this as a gift for a true mermaid fan.
The layout was clean and simple with plenty of room for imagination and interpretation. The result was homespun cuteness. The colors I used are some of my very favorite, especially the aqua tones. Being a March baby and my birthstone being aquamarine, it’s fitting and I always gravitate to those soft tones aside from vintage projects that have a lot of brown tones (I love working with those tones as well!)
