Mother’s Day card

Hi peeps! I made this card from some old stash and just wanted to pop on here and share. It was part of an order of 5 cards I completed recently. The stack is K & Company and I just layered paper and fussy cut the butterflies out and left them half glued so that I can pop them up. The extra butterflies that were fussy cut were put inside of the card so that when the recipient opened it they would fall out.

A Tribute to a Father who served

This Shadowbox was such an honor to put together. I was asked to work my magic on the existing elements in the shadow box and make it nice and memorable. I spent one day putting this together and am really happy with the result. I used BoBunny’s Anthem paper collection and really loved the layering to bulk up the framing of the photos and pieces. I had some clear star stick pins from one of my trips out to Valencia’s Remember When (no longer in business) 😦 and they worked great to anchor the medals to the back of the box. I used the alpha letters from the collection sticker sheet to spell “dad” as well. I used some red, white & blue ribbon with stars wrap around the side of one of the photographs. I also used some red and white striped washi tape. I think I got the ribbon at Michaels in the $1 bin! What a lovely tribute piece to a beloved family member to display and enjoy. God Bless America! We need it…photo 4 photo 3_3 photo 3_2 photo 2_3 photo 2_2 photo 2 photo 1_3 photo 1_2 photo 1_1

Afternoon Tea Shaker Card by WMS Stamps

Written by mom:
“Well, everyone loves a good cup of tea, don’t they? ( Shuffle, ball, change – Badumpbum! )
This card was created with Waltzing Mouse Stamps, Afternoon Tea Set. This is a set I have waited a long time to use just because I don’t usually have time to make cards, even though I think I have every stamp set ever made! I like to pair up my stamp sets when I do make a card. I am one of those people that painstakingly creates and it is like giving birth to me! Finally Graphic 45 came out with the perfect paper for that lovely little mousey stamp set, Botanical Tea! It was a match made in heaven and I knew I could move ahead with this one.
I single cut the tea pot, then double cut the foam for the shaker window. The tea cup was fussy cut just to add a little extra. Found the right tea colored glitter and a card was born! Not much to it but I love the way it turned out. Just paper and the die cut tea pot is all you need, and maybe a real cup of tea! ( Shuffle of to Buffalo – Badumpbum! )”

Cute Shaker Card Gone Wrong

OK, so I attempted my first shaker card after watching a few YouTube videos. And being that my mom’s birthday is coming up, I thought using a fun, retro collection she got me would be a great choice. It’s called Birthday Cake by Pretty Little Studio.

The last few steps that are supposed to be popping “back” the shaker box was where I made my misstep. The foam frame with background diecut shape and acetate with filler is supposed to be hidden behind a piece of cardstock cut to size of your card that has a window cut into it in a smaller size so it creates a frame to hide the shaker box assembly…  A little hard to explain, much easier to see on a video.

Because this process has so many steps, it’s great to watch the pros out there in YouTube land and follow along step-by-step. My cards fault: the shaker box is up as opposed to down and hidden under the cardstock of choice.

Take a look! Oh, and Happy upcoming Birthday mom, I hope you like it xo

Card for Mom

Hi all!  I’ve been working so been away from the blog for a while.

But I’m back here to share one of my latest creations using the following supplies:

Papertrey Inc. – Spring Hills Stamp Set

Memory Box Die: Breezy Wreath

Tim Holtz Distress Markers: Colored different pieces of stamp landscape in different colors

Bakers twine: Marigold

Paper Collection: Secret Garden, G45

Viva Pearl Pen: Pearls around the wreath

Button: Recollections

Spellbinders Die: Nestabilities Labels 10, Fancy Tags 2

Waltzingmouse Stamps: Sweethearts (With Love)

The sentiment “Find Beauty in Each Day” was done on a square punch from Michaels and I just tucked it under the layers on the card so you only see the bottom half. I also snuck in some vellum paper that has flakes of iridescent circles. In the light, it shines as well as the little sheep and their fleece that I added white glitter to!  🙂  ♥
