What’s Sweet, Pink & Doubles as Decor?

A 7 Gypsies Artist Printer’s Tray! Each holiday can be shown off by adorning this 12 slotted tray with ATCs (small trading card sized decorative pieces of paper) or chipboard adorned with paper. I did some embossing with Valentine themed powders and stamped lace from Waltzingmouse stamps as well as the sentiments. Then I added a white picket fence with glue dots so it can easily be removed and tied a ribbon and little glass bottle of glitter to the top which I added last.

It’s very festive sitting on top of my mantle.

A Tip for the Hairdresser

So Valentine’s Day is a day to show those you love with a little gifty, right? I made this altered facial product tube for April, my hairdresser.

#1 – Cover tube with patterned paper

#2 – Adorn inside of tube with clay homemade flowers around round base

#3 – Fix/secure/glue shoes of vintage little girl on inside of tube

#4 – Adorn outside of tube including round surfaces on top & bottom

#5 – Add some dough (I added a lot this time because she always treats me so well and gives me extra love & attention) Also, my haircut was free, thanks ma :0)

Easy Treat Pocket Tutorial

DSCN2364

Follow along to make these easy treat pockets (good for any occasion)

DSCN2365

A few tools… scissors, hole punch, decorative punch, corner rounder, bone folder, decorative elements, ribbon.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a bone folder, corner rounder or decorative punch, I will walk you through alternatives.

DSCN2366

Take any sized rectangular shaped piece of paper [I used 6.75″ x 4.75″] and fold the two ends toward the middle to create a seam. This seam is the one you will glue together first.

DSCN2368

Pinch both sides then fold securely with your bone folder or the side of a round pen will do.

DSCN2370 DSCN2371

After making the side folds, run your scissors about 1.75″ up each side, then cut the squares that are flapping, off.

Now fold the middle flap upwards, and secure with your bone folder or pen. Next, for that finished look, either use a corner rounder or your scissors to trim off the edges of the middle flap.

DSCN2380 DSCN2385Take a pen to mark your holes for the ribbon to go through then punch holes. I eye-balled it! Go for it too!

DSCN2388 DSCN2389 DSCN2391

Glue all your seams together, I like Scotch Quick Dry. Well, that’s a lie. I LOVE Scotch Quick Dry! If you noticed, I had a pic of the scalloped scissors in the pic, you can use those on any edges you like for added flair. Go for it!

DSCN2392 DSCN2393 DSCN2395

For this heart shaped punch-out, you can alternatively cut out a heart from the patterned paper then edge with distress ink or your stamp pad.

Add a treat, or two, run ribbon through the holes, decorate and you’re all set! I put foil wrapped chocolate hearts in these.

I’m letting my son take these to school for his awesome friends. He’s in high school and has some of the best friends he surrounds himself with. I know they’ll appreciate these little treats.

*I’ll post the Altoid tins I decorated for him to give out too!

Baby Girl Lunch Sack Mini Album #2

This lush mini album has pearl finished papers from DCWV Luxury Stack, tags from Best Creations ‘Sweet Baby’ collection, tons of embellishments from K& Co., many stylish buttons from Dress It Up Button Co., cut outs from the Silhouette Cameo, I am Roses flowers, collectible buttons, trim from Michaels, my personal stash, Recollections layered flowers, and more! I wasn’t sure about the choice in the paper until I got going with the album then it all fell together in such a classy, rich way. I love the fun result. It’s very girlie and soft. The pictures actually do the album justice! Although there is nothing like holding a finished project in your hands. I hope you enjoy and feel free to leave a comment!
