So here is my project for the SEM February Challenge which makes me ask, ya, where do I feel most at home (aside from home)?
It was simple for me to answer this – where I grew up, where the phone number is still the same and there are still some citrus trees near the ranch despite all the development… My journal tag reads: “Home to me is where I grew up in the farming and citrus town of Santa Paula, CA. The old style Ranch house was built by my great, great, great grandfather. My mom decorates the dining room table for the holidays with a mix of family heirlooms, curious finds and more. It’s always a treat to visit, especially when he house is festive and reflective our heritage of hardworking Americans enjoying life’s simple pleasures.”
Paper collection – Prima’s Meadow Lark (thanks Kathy)
Clay flowers – Kathy’s Stash from her new molds she’s been experimenting with.

Sooo… I was like “what is a Tussie Mussie”? Well, it’s a cone for treats, little gifties and more you make out of paper, toilet paper rolls, etc… So here is my hand at it. I got my inspiration from LiveLoveScrap on YouTube – Bona is her name. I follow her work and try to keep up with the videos for this VERY reason.
Now I am officially Tussie Mussie-fied, LOL
BTW, you can find tutorials all over YouTube on these, so go search!
I started with a 12×12 piece of double sided pattered paper (thick is good), shaped it, used my tiny attacher by Tim Holtz to secure the very bottom of the cone, then I used my Scotch Quick dry to secure the paper seam and voila, it was ready to embellish. I embellished with Glitz stamps, a Spellbinders die cut, i am roses flower, Recollections flower, Melissa Francis trim, Tim Holtz Distress Markers (I colored in the little postage stamp with those). I also wrapped a large square doily around the outside and adhered with my Scotch dot roller.
Go crazy out there! Oh, I also put eyelets with my Crop-a-Dial to make the ribbon handle so it can hang on a door. :0) Have fun you guys! *Tip: if you click one photo, you can scroll all with the arrow.

This Prima Fairy Belle collection is so beautiful fun & easy to work with. The images are whimsical and lovely. This was a graduation card for a young lady named Faith who graduated High School and it suits her just right. Although… a huge card with a Pug on it would have been just as suitable. However, I figured I’d go with the “lovely” route. I used Paper Trey Inc. Kraft Cardstock, a Prima flower that matched perfectly and my favorite Gelly Roll pen in Clear Star. I distressed the edges in Pumice Stone by Tim Holtz. Loving the result here. And… Miss Faith AKA baby Nugg loved her card!
