Magnetic G45 Birthday Card – Bird Song Collection

So I was staring at one of my paper bag mini inserts and realized it could be a great card! Sure enough, it proved to make a special card with that extra “umph”. With it’s magnetic closure and multi-surfaces to show off the beautiful paper, this one was a winner! Sequins are a big hit right now, so I had to sprinkle a few on the card of course. I adhered them with my Glossy Accents and voila!

I also like adding the paper strip that names the collection used on my projects as a way to give recognition to the fabulous collections they produce whether it be Graphic 45, October Afternoon, Crate Paper, or others!

I just started with pulling sheets that coordinated well, began cutting them according to what layer they would be on the card surface and had fun with it. I always tell my students, the hardest part of paper crafting, is decision making. So true.

Birthday Card – October Afternoon Woodland Park

I love the Woodland Park collection by October Afternoon, the patterns are so adorable! I used my Martha Stewart border punch, baker’s twine in lime green, American Crafts paper trimmer with interchangeable edge blades, Tim Holtz’s Distress Ink in Weathered Wood and Studio G stamps from Michaels.

Since “HB” has taken off as abbreviated Happy Birthday, I decided to use it on this card because of the limited space on the round collection sticker.

The strip that has the baker’s twine on it is glued on the edges only so I could fit the tag into it like a pocket of sorts.

It’s going in the mail today!

Mermaid Journals – G45’s Tropical Travelogue

Here are some Moleskin blank journals transformed into mermaid-themed keepsakes using Graphic 45s Tropical Travelogue. The request was to keep them flat and simple with incorporating a camouflage pocket. Each journal varies a bit in design and embellishments from the images on the covers and inside covers. All have the same 4 stamped images of mermaids & starfish on random pages within. Each has a small pocket on the back inside cover that holds a bookmark complete with stamped images.

Before beginning this project, the journals were taken to the beach for some salt water, sand and seaweed exposure for a weathered look.

Envelope Mini Album – G45 “Curtain Call”

Hi everyone, it’s been a busy season, but I’m back here to share a little something I made for my son after getting tired of seeing his dresser riddled with tickets, etc…

I looked up “envelope album” on YouTube and found a bunch of great tutorials and after watching a few decided to go for it!  If you like this idea, go do the same, it’s easy!

So, because this was movie, performance, theater related (mostly) with his tickets, etc… I decided to go with Graphic 45s Curtain Call Paper Stack I’ve had for a while.

The vintage vellum envelopes are from ebay, the closure is magnetic using Neodymium small magnets you can also find on ebay, Amazon and Etsy. I used white envelopes and distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. In hindsight, I wish I would have used black envelopes but it came out great and I immediately got three orders for more!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles Main Challenge #28 – Guest Designer Post

ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW

SEM Main Challenge details & guidelines:

“For this month’s main challenge we would like you to share a project that represents something new in your life. You can reflect on a new relationship, a new phase of life, an event that brought change into your life, a new job, hobby, volunteer opportunity, or even a book or Scripture verse that has given you new insight. God blesses us with everyday miracles – sometimes big and sometimes small – that bring change and new opportunities to our lives. Your project doesn’t need to be about a recent event, but needs to represent something new in your life.”

SCRAP TWIST: USE SOMETHING ON YOUR PROJECT THAT IS MORE THAN A YEAR OLD – THE OLDER THE BETTER, “AND” SOMETHING NEW TO YOU IN 2013. These supplies may be purchased, given to you, or even found objects. Be sure to tell us in your project blog post what these supplies are.

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Hello everyone and I hope all of you moms, mothers, mamas, mums… were showered with love and warmth yesterday!  I just want to say a huge thank you to SEM for inviting me to guest design this month! It is an honor.

For this main challenge I created a 12×12 layout using DCWV new paper stack “Sunday Afternoon”, stamps from Heidi Swapp”Memory File”, Papertrey Inc.’s “Tiny Tags” die cuts & stamp set, chipboard from Michaels (covered with glitter to match layout) and Colobok acrylic pieces “Get well”, which was my old piece from my craft stash. This layout represents a little, sleeping me…  A simpler time when worries were few, days were long with countless laughs & tickles and worries of paying bills and being an adult were nowhere in sight.  I’m learning to live this way now as a 39 year old mother of one. *Bump up the amount of laughs per day = check. *Cast all my cares on Jesus = check. *Realize that living for a paycheck or even great success is an empty dream full of shallow hopes = check. *Extend daily gratitude to my Lord & Savior for His love, sovereignty & will for my life = check. This is new, this is a beautiful way to live! It’s 100% freedom in Christ.

My NEW paperstack, DCWV “Sunday Afternoon” and my old acrylic piece embellie, Colorbok “Get Well

G45 Birthday Card

So, my nephew’s birthday just passed and I made this card for him since he can appreciate strange and curios things. I used Graphic 45’s “Old Curiosity Shoppe” paper collection and sticker sheets to create with. The key tied with twine is a Tim Holtz piece and I used Vintage Photo on all the edges. The Stamp is “Mice Party” by Clear Art Stamps and the die is a Spellbinders Nestability one I like to use with more simple and masculine themes.
