Afternoon Tea Shaker Card by WMS Stamps

Written by mom:
“Well, everyone loves a good cup of tea, don’t they? ( Shuffle, ball, change – Badumpbum! )
This card was created with Waltzing Mouse Stamps, Afternoon Tea Set. This is a set I have waited a long time to use just because I don’t usually have time to make cards, even though I think I have every stamp set ever made! I like to pair up my stamp sets when I do make a card. I am one of those people that painstakingly creates and it is like giving birth to me! Finally Graphic 45 came out with the perfect paper for that lovely little mousey stamp set, Botanical Tea! It was a match made in heaven and I knew I could move ahead with this one.
I single cut the tea pot, then double cut the foam for the shaker window. The tea cup was fussy cut just to add a little extra. Found the right tea colored glitter and a card was born! Not much to it but I love the way it turned out. Just paper and the die cut tea pot is all you need, and maybe a real cup of tea! ( Shuffle of to Buffalo – Badumpbum! )”

Mom Did It Again! “You’re a Doll” Shaker Card

Shake, shake, shake…

Shake, shake, shake

Shake your ca-aard, shake your ca-aard

So shaker cards are all the rage now and they are a little more time consuming to make, but boy the result is fantastic! My mom tried her first shaker cards recently and I’m posting them this week on display. This card was such a great idea with the Russian nesting doll stamp set from WMS. I just love the spring take on it too with the floral die cut piece and the monochromatic lavender, purple and grape hues. Please enjoy and feel free to give mom props in the comments {grin}.

Playful Pinwheels Card

I like four things that I used on this spring-like card:

Mason Jars!

Soft color palette!

I used Waltzingmouse Stamp set – Playful Pinwheels

I didn’t have the exact color stamp pads to match the background paper so I used the second generation stamping method for lighter shades. I fussy cut the mason jars from the paper stack and used my ATG to glue it down over the pinwheel stems (made from the stamp set). I added some glossy accents and glitter to the wheels for a pop.

The banner added was pre-sewn, it’s made by Dear Lizzy as well as the paper stack,

This is a card that represents one of my favorite styles. I smile when I look at it.

Tussie Mussie – Shabby Chic Valentine

Sooo… I was like “what is a Tussie Mussie”? Well, it’s a cone for treats, little gifties and more you make out of paper, toilet paper rolls, etc… So here is my hand at it. I got my inspiration from LiveLoveScrap on YouTube – Bona is her name. I follow her work and try to keep up with the videos for this VERY reason.

Now I am officially Tussie Mussie-fied, LOL

BTW, you can find tutorials all over YouTube on these, so go search!

I started with a 12×12 piece of double sided pattered paper (thick is good), shaped it, used my tiny attacher by Tim Holtz to secure the very bottom of the cone, then I used my Scotch Quick dry to secure the paper seam and voila, it was ready to embellish. I embellished with Glitz stamps, a Spellbinders die cut, i am roses flower, Recollections flower, Melissa Francis trim, Tim Holtz Distress Markers (I colored in the little postage stamp with those). I also wrapped a large square doily around the outside and adhered with my Scotch dot roller.

Go crazy out there! Oh, I also put eyelets with my Crop-a-Dial to make the ribbon handle so it can hang on a door. :0)  Have fun you guys! *Tip: if you click one photo, you can scroll all with the arrow.

Couple of Rustic Cards

DSCN1924 DSCN1925 DSCN1926 DSCN1927

Now that the holidays are behind us and Valentine’s Day is creeping up, I have time to post some of the fun cards, albums and more to share from this season. Here are two cards made with Recollections paper and Jolee’s embellishments along with gorgeous stamps from Waltzing Mouse. On the card that has the angled pieces together, I just cut the paper diagonal with my paper trimmer and pieced them on the ready made card bases (so great for the holidays to buy the sets at Michaels). Saves a ton of time…
