30 for Her 30th

“30 Cards for her 30th Birthday” he said. I received an order from a friend for his girlfriend Jill. I never thought that making that many cards in a two week period would have been possible! It was such a great challenge. I had a list of things she likes and enjoys then went for it.  I honestly think I  do my best work when I am given specific requests, especially thematic ones.

I used a mix of collections, embellishments, stamp sets and trim for the cards. I hope you enjoy!

Scrapping Everyday Miracles Main Challenge #28 – Guest Designer Post

ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW

SEM Main Challenge details & guidelines:

“For this month’s main challenge we would like you to share a project that represents something new in your life. You can reflect on a new relationship, a new phase of life, an event that brought change into your life, a new job, hobby, volunteer opportunity, or even a book or Scripture verse that has given you new insight. God blesses us with everyday miracles – sometimes big and sometimes small – that bring change and new opportunities to our lives. Your project doesn’t need to be about a recent event, but needs to represent something new in your life.”

SCRAP TWIST: USE SOMETHING ON YOUR PROJECT THAT IS MORE THAN A YEAR OLD – THE OLDER THE BETTER, “AND” SOMETHING NEW TO YOU IN 2013. These supplies may be purchased, given to you, or even found objects. Be sure to tell us in your project blog post what these supplies are.

2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Hello everyone and I hope all of you moms, mothers, mamas, mums… were showered with love and warmth yesterday!  I just want to say a huge thank you to SEM for inviting me to guest design this month! It is an honor.

For this main challenge I created a 12×12 layout using DCWV new paper stack “Sunday Afternoon”, stamps from Heidi Swapp”Memory File”, Papertrey Inc.’s “Tiny Tags” die cuts & stamp set, chipboard from Michaels (covered with glitter to match layout) and Colobok acrylic pieces “Get well”, which was my old piece from my craft stash. This layout represents a little, sleeping me…  A simpler time when worries were few, days were long with countless laughs & tickles and worries of paying bills and being an adult were nowhere in sight.  I’m learning to live this way now as a 39 year old mother of one. *Bump up the amount of laughs per day = check. *Cast all my cares on Jesus = check. *Realize that living for a paycheck or even great success is an empty dream full of shallow hopes = check. *Extend daily gratitude to my Lord & Savior for His love, sovereignty & will for my life = check. This is new, this is a beautiful way to live! It’s 100% freedom in Christ.

My NEW paperstack, DCWV “Sunday Afternoon” and my old acrylic piece embellie, Colorbok “Get Well

Embellished Altoids Tin

Altoid tins! Decorated for Valentine’s Day next week!

I took patterned paper, some heart embellishments (punched out and adhesive ones) and went to town. Added a little baker’s twine, washi tape, clay flowers and voila! Some minty fresh treats for those you adore.

Lost Tags of My Minds Eye – All is Bright

DSCN1928 DSCN1929 DSCN1930 DSCN1931 DSCN1940

Well, what a thing to happen… Made these fun tags with the new collection by MME, All is Bright  and in the hustle & bustle of wrapping, they got set aside and I just found them!  Oh well, next year’s gifts will have some great tags.

Hee, hee…  I used white acrylic paint on the edges of the tags (thanks Kim for the tip from Paper Loves Glue), layered the paper, adhered brads, chipboard and washi tape to the tags and also used stamps from the collection for added pop. The little jungle bells are from Michaels and the tinsel yarn is Martha Stewart, Michales also.
